Iranian artist Alan Kouchakpour brings Ottoman sultans to life with oil paintings

EXCLUSIVE BY MURAT OZTEKIN — Acclaimed Iranian painter Alan Kouchakpour has painted portraits of 36 Ottoman sultans, influential figures who shaped world history, using oil on canvas.

These portraits are set to be exhibited as part of the “Payidar” project, curated by Murat Baytas and organized by Anadolu Events Organization. The national and international exhibitions aim to connect art enthusiasts with their historical roots.

The exhibition emphasizes the critical role of art in preserving a nation’s cultural integrity and continuity, advocating for the importance of holding onto our roots and carrying our values into the future.

Baytas announced that the series will continue with the theme of “İz Bırakanlar” (those who have left a mark).
