Strikes in Germany, Greece disrupt international flights

Massive strikes in Greece and Germany will cause significant disruptions to international flights between Feb. 27 and 28, affecting numerous passengers.

In Greece, flights and travel services will be severely impacted on Feb. 28 as air traffic controllers and transport workers participate in a 24-hour general strike. The strike marks the second anniversary of the Tempe rail disaster, which claimed 57 lives, with unions demanding justice for the victims.

Meanwhile, in Germany, employees at Munich Airport will stage a 48-hour warning strike on Feb. 27 and 28 after failing to reach a wage agreement. More than 1,600 flights scheduled during the strike period are expected to be canceled by airlines.
