Interior Minister announces crackdown on 2 organized crime groups

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the successful dismantling of two organized crime groups in Corum and Sinop, led by Yunus Emre Akyildiz and Gozde Akyildiz in Corum, and Mustafa Demir in Sinop, as part of operation “Mahzen-50” conducted across 6 provinces.

In a statement on social media, Yerlikaya revealed that 39 suspects, including the leaders of these groups, were apprehended during the operations.

Of these, 27 suspects have been detained, while judicial control was ordered for 6 others. Yerlikaya emphasized, “We will not give organized crime groups and gangs any respite.”

In addition, joint operations with the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) led to the seizure of significant assets from the suspects, including 10 vehicles, 5 apartments, 22 fields, 2 plots, 22 gardens, and 597 bank accounts.
