Turkish robot Cuma designed for robotic coding, will gain new skills with artificial intelligence
An IT company operating in the Ulutek Technopark Technology Development Zone in Bursa has started a study to transform the robot Cuma into an adult-sized assistant that can walk and talk.
Biorobotec company has been serving in the software industry since 2002 and is now working on coding training sets and humanoid bionic robots using the advantages of Ulutek Technopark.
In cooperation with Bursa Uludag University, the company produced the “Cuma” robot prototype, designed as robotic coding training material in the first stage.
The robot will be equipped with artificial intelligence and gain capabilities like image processing, language analysis, and emotion analysis.
The aim is to use metal parts to transform the robot, which resembles a 4- to 5-year-old child, into an adult physical assistant 1.8 meters tall.
Adem Aksu, the company’s owner, stated that the robot could be used in the security sector in the later stages of the project.
Associate professor Dr. Murtaza Cicioglu from the BUU Faculty of Engineering, Department of Computer Engineering, emphasized that the project is an important example of cooperation between industries and universities. He stated that the robot’s design would be unique to Türkiye.
Ulutek Technopark Technology Development Zone General Manager professor Dr. Irfan Karagoz stated that artificial intelligence technology is developing rapidly and has found application areas in different sectors.
