Türkiye successfully tests Levent Close Air Defense System for naval platforms
Roketsan, Türkiye’s leading defense and missile technology company, announced the successful first test of its Levent Close Air Defense System, designed to protect naval platforms from aerial threats.
Developed by Turkish engineers, Levent is set to enhance the Turkish Navy’s defense capabilities against a range of threats, including aircraft, helicopters, drones, and cruise missiles.
Strengthening Türkiye’s naval defense capabilities
Roketsan, known for its contributions to air defense solutions, is now bolstering the defense of Turkish naval platforms with Levent, which completed its first live-fire test. The system will provide effective protection for naval assets, using the expertise gained from Roketsan’s previous air defense systems, Sungur and Hisar.
Advanced technology and features
Levent is equipped with advanced sensor technology and is capable of intercepting supersonic targets over long ranges. It offers multiple operational modes—manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic—and is integrated with the ship’s combat management system. The system is designed with a multi-missile launcher, enabling salvo firing and providing 360° coverage.
Integration into Turkish naval platforms
Levent will be featured on Türkiye’s next-generation naval platforms, including the National Fast Attack Craft.
This close air defense system is tailored to meet the Turkish Navy’s self-defense requirements, ensuring the protection of critical naval assets.
