Türkiye detains 12 suspected Deash operatives in counterterrorism raids

Counterterrorism teams from the Istanbul Police Department detained 12 individuals suspected of links to Deash in an operation aimed at disrupting terrorist activities.

The suspects were identified during investigations into connections with armed groups operating in conflict zones. Authorities believed they might have been planning attacks in Türkiye.

The simultaneous raids resulted in the arrest of all 12 suspects. During searches at their residences, police seized an unlicensed handgun, 13 rounds of ammunition, and numerous digital materials.

The suspects were taken into custody and transferred to the police headquarters for further processing.

The operation highlights Türkiye’s ongoing efforts to counter terrorism and ensure national security.
