Israeli Knesset member Nissim Vaturi from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party has warned that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah could escalate into a full-scale war within a few days. Speaking to Israel’s Kan TV, Vaturi suggested a five-day preemptive airstrike campaign followed by a ground operation to address the threat.

Vaturi claimed that Netanyahu shares his views, and controversially stated, “Dahiyeh will be like Gaza; there is no other way.” Dahiyeh, a neighborhood in Beirut, was targeted by Israel during the 2006 Lebanon War and is home to hundreds of thousands of people.

Israeli National Unity Party leader Benny Gantz also commented on the situation, stating that the Israeli military has reached a certain point in Gaza and should now focus intensively on the northern border. Gantz highlighted the importance of addressing Hezbollah’s presence in Lebanon, noting the strategic implications of Iranian proxy plans.

The remarks and proposed actions underscore the growing tension and potential for further escalation in the region.
