Hamas accepts UN cease-fire resolution
Hamas has accepted a U.N. Security Council cease-fire resolution and expressed readiness to negotiate the details, senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri said on Tuesday.

Abu Zuhri emphasized that it is now up to Washington to ensure Israel adheres to the resolution.
“Hamas accepts the U.N. Security Council resolution regarding the ceasefire, withdrawal of Israeli troops, and the swap of hostages for detainees held by Israel,” Abu Zuhri stated.
“The U.S. administration is facing a real test to carry out its commitments in compelling the occupation to immediately end the war in implementation of the U.N. Security Council resolution,” Abu Zuhri added.
Blinken responds to Hamas statement
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken described Hamas’ statement of support for the U.N. resolution as a “hopeful sign,” while emphasizing that the final word from the group’s leadership in Gaza is crucial.
“Conversations on plans for Gaza following the ceasefire would continue on Tuesday afternoon and in the next couple of days,” Blinken said. “It’s imperative that we have these plans.”
