The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) reported that Renault led the Turkish individual car market among newly registered cars in November with a 13.3% share, followed by Volkswagen at 8.3% and Hyundai at 7.4%.
The number of road motor vehicle registrations in Türkiye decreased by 9.8% in November compared to the previous month, totaling 188,966, TurkStat reported.
According to the TurkStat report released on Friday, a total of 2.36 million vehicles were registered during the January-November period, marking a 12.9% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Cars constituted 44.9% of the registrations, followed by motorcycles at 38.9%, small trucks at 10.3%, and tractors at 3.1%. Other vehicle types, including trucks, minibusses, buses, and special-purpose vehicles, accounted for the remaining share.
Compared to November of the previous year, registrations saw a modest increase of 3.7%. Notable growth was observed in minibuses (47.3%) and special-purpose vehicles (35.8%), while registrations for tractors and trucks declined by 17.5% and 17.1%, respectively.
Despite the overall decline, specific vehicle categories experienced increases. Registrations for special-purpose vehicles rose significantly by 51.8%, while small trucks increased by 14.1% and cars by 13.7%.
Conversely, motorcycle registrations dropped by 31.1%, alongside declines for buses (5.5%) and trucks (1.1%).
In November, 917,715 vehicles were handed over, and cars dominated this segment at 68.7%, with small trucks (15.4%) and motorcycles (8.2%) trailing behind.
Within 906,077 cars registered to traffic in the January–November period, 38.6% were grey, making it the most common color.
Among 906,077 cars registered during the January–November period, 61.9% were gasoline-fueled, making it the most common fuel type.
By the end of November, the total number of registered road motor vehicles reached 31.07 million.
Cars represented the largest share at 51.9%, followed by motorcycles at 19.8% and small trucks at 15.1%.
