Two signal flares landed in the garden of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s private residence in Caesarea, the Israeli police and the Shin Bet internal security agency confirmed in a joint statement.

The flares caused no damage, and the Netanyahu family was not present at the residence at the time, according to the statement. Authorities described the incident as a “grave event indicating a dangerous escalation” and announced an investigation into the matter.

This is not the first attack on Netanyahu’s Caesarea residence. On Oct. 19, a drone launched from Lebanon struck the property, causing minor damage to the bedroom window. At the time, neither Netanyahu nor his wife, Sara, was home. The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the drone attack.

The recent flare incident adds to the ongoing tensions in northern Israel, where security concerns remain heightened. Authorities have not yet identified those responsible for the latest attack.

Police and security officials strongly condemned the incident as they continued their investigation.
