Following the recent terror attack on the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) facility in Kahramankazan, Ankara, CHP (Republican People’s Party) held an “Anti-Terror and Right to Life Rally” in Besiktas, Istanbul.

CHP leader Ozgur Ozel addressed the crowd, delivering a strong message of resilience, stating that “The Republic of Türkiye stands tall, will not back down, and will never submit to terror.”

CHP leader’s message against terror

Speaking at the rally, CHP Chairman Ozel emphasized that the nation stands strong against terrorism. He thanked the attendees for their courage, pointing out that the terrorists’ main objective is to incite fear and alter the public’s way of life.

“Terror aims to instill fear, silence us, and force us to change our way of life to fit its agenda. To those who overcame that fear and rushed here today, I offer my deepest thanks,” Ozel said.

Türkiye stands united against terrorism

Ozel reiterated that Türkiye has been battling terrorism, particularly from the PKK, for over 40 years, with many lives lost and countless sacrifices made. He reassured the crowd that despite these challenges, Türkiye remains resolute.

“For 40 years, Türkiye has been a target of terrorist organizations, primarily the PKK. Our nation has lost lives, endured martyrs, and suffered greatly. Yet, despite all of this, the Republic of Türkiye stands strong, will not retreat, and will not give in to terror,” Ozel said.

Ozel’s call for government accountability

During his speech, Ozel also addressed President Erdogan, urging him to clarify recent comments made by MHP leader Devlet Bahceli regarding the terrorist organization PKK’s ringleader Abdullah Ocalan.

Ozel questioned the government’s position, stating that transparency is necessary and that Bahceli should not serve as a spokesperson for these matters.

“We will not act based on what Mr. Devlet says, but on what the people are asking for,” he said.

Ozel concluded by reaffirming CHP’s dedication to ensuring national security, social peace, and the well-being of martyr and veteran families, stressing that the party will never engage in actions that would dishonor their sacrifices.
