The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) investigates allegations of a privacy breach at the London Clinic, where the Princess of Wales had surgery

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is investigating reports of staff at a London hospital, where the Princess of Wales had surgery, attempting to access her private medical records.

The Daily Mirror alleges that personnel at the London Clinic made unauthorized attempts to view her health information.

The ICO confirmed receipt of a breach report and is conducting inquiries.

The London Clinic has yet to respond to BBC News’ request for comment.

According to the Mirror, at least one staff member was caught trying to access the princess’s medical notes, prompting an internal investigation at the hospital.

Catherine, undergoing abdominal surgery in January, has withdrawn from public duties during her recovery.

While a Kensington Palace spokesperson declined to comment on the Mirror’s claims, stating it’s a matter for the London Clinic, the allegations come amid speculation surrounding the princess’s health during her absence from public engagements.

Catherine recently apologized for a doctored Mother’s Day photo, sparking further rumors.

Following her hospital stay, the princess is expected to recuperate until after Easter.

In a separate development, the Sun published a photo of Prince William and Catherine’s first public appearance since Christmas.
