Historical story

Although many believe Sarimsakli Beach’s name comes from the yellow and red colors of the stones, an intriguing story explains its origin. A shepherd from the village falls in love with a girl with golden hair. Her family refuses to let her marry him, and another man kidnaps her. The shepherd finds her lifeless body while searching and cries out to the mountains in great sorrow, “Sarim sakli sende” (“I hide my pain in you”). The area has since been known as Sarimsakli.
