The AK Party will continue its work at the same pace following the nine-day holiday, which will end on Sunday. Party officials, who are individually investigating the reasons for the loss of votes in the March 31 local elections, will come together at the Central Decision and Executive Board (DEB) meeting at the beginning of next week.

According to sources, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will convene the DEB on Monday. During the holiday, Erdogan will listen to DEB members’ field observations. The meeting will also discuss the upcoming Municipal Mayors Consultation and Evaluation Camp scheduled for the end of the month, and a roadmap will be determined.

Municipal Mayors Consultation and Evaluation Camp

At the camp in Kizilcahamam, eight ministers will give presentations from June 30 to July 2. On the first day, deputy chairmen will meet with mayors to share experiences and have conversations. Later, the central administration will hold coordination meetings with mayors in their respective regions.

Key presentations and address by President Erdogan

On the second day of the camp, Head of Local Governments Yusuf Ziya Yilmaz; Deputy Chairman in charge of Urban, and Culture Cigdem Karaaslan; Minister of Environment, Urbanism and Climate Change Mehmet Ozhaseki; Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya and Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas will give presentations to complete the first session. In the second session, President Erdogan will address the mayors publicly. It is anticipated that Erdogan will deliver strong messages regarding the continuation of the People’s Alliance, the expected change movement in society, and at the grassroots level.

Consultation and evaluation section

After the speech, the meeting will be closed to the press, and a general consultation and evaluation section will take place with Erdogan’s participation. Here, mayors will have the opportunity to personally convey their problems to Erdogan. It is noted that mayors will address many issues, such as budget constraints, excessive debt, staff salaries, and bureaucratic obstacles, directly to Erdogan.
