Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro signed the agreement dated July 21, 2023 on the promotion and protection of investments between Türkiye and Venezuela

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro signed the document on “live TV” upon completion of the ratification process in Venezuela for the Agreement on the Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments signed between his country and Türkiye in Istanbul on July 21, 2023.

President Maduro invited Turkish Ambassador to Caracas, Aydan Karamanoğlu, to his weekly program “More with Maduro,” which is broadcast live on television.

Before signing the ratification document, President Maduro stated, “First and foremost, I am about to sign a document of economic significance that will elevate our relations, investments, and trade with the brotherly Republic of Türkiye to a higher level. I extend my greetings to my friend President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. I am signing the ratification document of the ‘Agreement on Mutual Promotion and Protection of Investments’ signed between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Türkiye.”

Maduro, amidst applause, signed the document and then handed over the floor to Ambassador Karamanoğlu, stating, “It has been signed and ratified. Let it be published and implemented. I would like to invite the Ambassador of Türkiye, our friend in Venezuela, to share his insights on investment, trade, and economic integration in Venezuela and this document.”
