Seven PKK/YPG terrorists were eliminated in northern Syria and three PKK terrorists were eliminated in northern Iraq, says the Turkish Defense Ministry
Seven PKK/YPG terrorists were eliminated in northern Syria and three PKK terrorists were eliminated in northern Iraq, the Ministry of National Defense said in a statement Friday.
“Turkish Armed Forces eliminated seven PKK/YPG terrorists in northern Syria and three PKK terrorists in northern Iraq,” read the statement.
PKK terrorists often hide out in northern Iraq and Syria to plot cross-border attacks in Turkiye.
In its over 35-year terror campaign against Turkiye, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkiye, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union — has been responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
The country faces the PKK terrorist group in northern Iraq and its Syrian affiliate, the YPG, in northern Syria, which poses a serious security threat to the country.
