Former U.S. President and Republican candidate Donald Trump announced he has agreed to a lively debate with his opponent, Democratic candidate and U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, on Sept. 10.

The debate will be broadcast live on ABC from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Trump, in his statement on Truth Social, referred to Harris as “Comrade Kamala Harris” and stated that the debate will follow the same rules as a recent CNN debate, including a standing format and no notes allowed.

Trump’s agreement came after negotiations over debate protocols, including microphone muting when candidates are not speaking.

Although Trump has expressed distrust of ABC News, previously calling it “Fake News,” he has confirmed his participation in the upcoming debate despite earlier statements suggesting he might not attend.
