A delegation led by North Korea’s cabinet minister for international trade reportedly visited Iran, sparking speculation about undisclosed military discussions between the two nations.
According to North Korea’s state news agency KCNA, a delegation led by Foreign Economic Relations Minister Yun Jong Ho departed North Korea on Tuesday for a visit to Iran. However, no additional details were provided.
North Korea and Iran have long been suspected of collaborating on ballistic missile programs, with speculations suggesting exchanges of technical expertise and components during missile production.
North Korea reportedly supplied Russia with various kinds of missiles and 155 mm artillery shells for use in the Ukraine conflict. Russia received 6,700 containers of ammunition from North Korea last month.
North Korea reportedly made efforts to enhance relations with the Syrian regime as well.
According to the KCNA, Minister Yun plays a significant role in fostering the development of these relations.
