The Head of French farmers unions signal renewed protests if the government fails to improve pay and working conditions

The head of France’s largest farming union, FNSEA, Arnaud Rousseau, has warned that protests in the agricultural sector may resume if the government fails to address their demands for improved pay and working conditions.

Talks between the government and farmers focus on securing higher selling prices to supermarkets and reducing regulatory burdens on farmers’ businesses.

Rousseau expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s progress, stating they were not moving quickly.

With the annual national farming convention just ten days away, he suggested that farmers might restart roadblocks similar to those in January if their concerns remain unaddressed.

Demonstrations for better pay and working conditions have occurred across Europe, involving farmers from Poland, Spain, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
