Former U.S. President Bill Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center on Monday afternoon after developing a fever, according to his deputy chief of staff, Angel Urena.

Urena announced former U.S President Clinton admitted to MedStar Georgetown University was admitted for on X, formerly known as Twitter, adding that “He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.”

Clinton, 78, has faced a history of health issues in recent years. In 2021, he was hospitalized for a urological infection that developed into sepsis, requiring several days of treatment. His medical history also includes heart complications, having undergone quadruple bypass surgery in 2004.

During the 2024 presidential campaign, Clinton actively supported Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris, making appearances in key battleground states in the South. The former president remains a visible figure in American politics and public life.

Earlier 2024, Clinton released his latest book, Citizen: My Life After the White House, chronicling major events and reflections since leaving office in January 2001.
