Another New York subway fire attack leaves man with severe burns
A man reportedly sustained severe burns after he was set on fire at Manhattan’s Penn Station in New York on Friday evening, marking the second such attack within a week.
The victim suffered burns across his entire body and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital. No updates on his condition have been released, and authorities have yet to identify him. The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear as police continue their investigation.
Second attack in a week
This incident follows a similarly harrowing attack on Dec. 23 in Brooklyn, where a man set fire to a sleeping woman on a subway using a lighter. The woman tragically died at the scene.
Authorities later apprehended the suspect, who was identified as a Guatemalan migrant who had moved to the United States in 2018.
The back-to-back attacks have raised concerns in New York City as investigations continue.
