We cannot allow Syria to be divided again: President Erdogan
In a recent address at the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Congress Center, President and AK Party leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to combating terrorist organizations in Syria, including Daesh and PKK/YPG.
Erdogan also unveiled forthcoming economic measures aimed at addressing domestic challenges, particularly in relation to inflation, minimum wage, and pensions.
Erdogan stresses Türkiye’s resolve against terrorist groups in Syria
President Erdogan delivered a strong message regarding Türkiye’s determination to eliminate terrorist organizations operating in Syria. Specifically, he stated that the heads of groups like Daesh, PKK/YPG would soon be eliminated, leading to the reinforcement of Syria’s territorial integrity.
“If the conditions are created, these terrorist organizations will be eradicated, and Syria’s territorial integrity will be further strengthened,” Erdogan said, emphasizing the importance of restoring stability and security to the region.
He also expressed his belief that no rational power would cooperate with terrorist groups, hoping to eliminate such alliances in the future.
Our belief and prayer is that Syria, after 61 years of the completely dark Baath regime, has now entered into brighter days. A door to a happy future has been opened for Syria and its people. God willing, the heads of terrorist organizations such as Daesh, PKK, and YPG will be defeated in the shortest time possible.
Thus, Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty will be strengthened throughout the country. In this period, as Syria approaches the restoration of its unity, we do not believe any rational power will cooperate with terrorist organizations.

Türkiye’s support for Syria
Erdogan also spoke about the broader context of Syria’s transformation. He praised the Syrian people for overthrowing the 61-year Baath dictatorship, describing it as a victory for freedom and human rights.
The Turkish president remarked that the Syrian population had freed itself from a brutal regime and now had the opportunity to build a more prosperous and just future.
“Syria belongs to all Syrians, regardless of their religion or ethnicity. We hope that the painful memories of the past will illuminate the path to a stronger Syria in the future,” Erdogan added, emphasizing Türkiye’s support for a unified and democratic Syria.
Syria belongs to all Syrians, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds. We hope that the suffering of the past will illuminate the path toward a stronger Syria in the future. I would like to remind everyone who covets Syria’s land that Türkiye has made tremendous sacrifices to bring Syria to this point. We have done this not out of complaint, but willingly.
We cannot allow Syria’s land to be divided once again. We cannot accept any provocation to prevent Syrians from returning to their homes. We will not stand by and watch as those who are emboldened by foreign powers try to set the region on fire. We seek security, peace, and prosperity for everyone. Once again, I congratulate the brotherly Syrian people for this magnificent revolution.

Türkiye’s commitment to Syrian refugees and stability
Addressing the issue of Syrian refugees, Erdogan reiterated Türkiye’s commitment to helping Syrians return home, should they choose to do so.
He noted that Türkiye had made significant sacrifices in supporting displaced Syrians over the years, but would not allow any attempts to destabilize Syria further.
“We will not allow anyone to fuel unrest in the region or prevent Syrians from returning to their homes. We will continue to support the brotherly Syrian people in their efforts to rebuild their country,” Erdogan stated.
He stressed that Türkiye would remain vigilant against any external intervention that could undermine Syria’s territorial integrity.
