Venezuela and Türkiye sign strategic deals in gas and gold sectors
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced that three new agreements have been signed with Türkiye to develop joint projects in the petrochemical, gas, and gold sectors.
Maduro, who is campaigning for the presidential election scheduled for July 28 in Venezuela, announced that an agreement was signed with Türkiye for gold mining in the Arco Minero region in the south of Venezuela.
Venezuela also signed an agreement with Türkiye to build a refinery to produce ammonia and to exploit “gas fields.”
Maduro described these projects as “strategic” and said:
“Venezuela and Türkiye have planned significant new steps to continue investing in and developing the enormous petrochemical capacities that Caracas possesses.”

On May 29, Caracas and Ankara signed nine agreements in various fields, including agriculture, health and medical sciences, civil aviation, human rights protection, education, and university scholarships, as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.
