Akif Cagatay Kilic, Chief Adviser to the President of Türkiye on Foreign Policy and Security, held discussions with Acting U.S. Under Secretary of State John Bass and his accompanying delegation at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.

The meeting focused on recent developments in Syria, including the political transition process and joint efforts to combat terrorist organizations.

Both sides also discussed potential contributions to Syria‘s reconstruction, with an emphasis on addressing the country’s pressing electricity and housing needs.

Discussions on Syria’s transition and reconstruction

Kilic shared details of the meeting on his social media account, noting: “We discussed the latest developments in Syria, the transition process, and joint efforts to combat terrorist organizations. We also evaluated what can be done to address Syria’s reconstruction needs, particularly in terms of electricity and housing.”
