Türkiye’s economic woes, cost of living top public concerns, survey finds
According to a recent survey by ASAL Research, Türkiye’s most pressing issue remains the economy and the rising cost of living.
Some 54.5% of respondents cited these factors as the country’s most significant problem, while 9.7% expressed a more general sentiment that “everything is a problem.” The survey, conducted in 26 provinces, delved into voter preferences, party opinions, and current agenda issues.
The survey was conducted between Aug. 17 and 27 with 2,000 people aged 18 and over as they were asked the question, “What do you think is Türkiye’s most important problem?”
Among the 26 provinces that the survey was conducted in, were Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Diyarbakir, Hatay, Istanbul, Izmir, Konya, Samsun, Trabzon and Van.
Over 50% of respondents cited the economy, inflation, and cost of living as their top concerns. “Justice” followed with 10.8%, while “Refugees” ranked third with 5.2%.
