Türkiye’s National Security Council (NSC) on Wednesday emphasized its determination to prevent the PKK/YPG terror groups from taking advantage of the ongoing situation in Syria, while reaffirming its commitment to eliminating all terror groups in the region.

“The PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG will not be allowed to exploit the current situation and potential developments in Syria in any way,” read a statement from the Directorate of Communications, quoting the NSC’s position.

The council reiterated its resolve to eradicate all terrorist organizations that threaten regional stability and the well-being of neighboring populations.

The NSC also condemned Israel’s continued aggressive actions on Syrian territory, warning that such moves threaten regional stability and violate international law.

Support for Syria’s sovereignty and unity

Türkiye reaffirmed its full support for Syria’s new administration, stressing the importance of maintaining the state’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political unity.

The council also called for the protection of the fundamental rights and freedoms of all ethnic, religious, and sectarian groups in Syria.

The council urged that the cease-fire in Gaza be made permanent as a pathway to resolving the Palestinian issue.

It also emphasized the importance of ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza in an uninterrupted and timely manner.

Commitment to global peace

Türkiye reiterated its dedication to promoting global peace and stability by focusing on conflict resolution in Africa, the Middle East, and the Balkans.

The NSC emphasized Türkiye’s efforts to prevent violence and work toward peaceful solutions in ongoing disputes.
