4 Tajiks arrested in terror attack in Moscow

Following the attack in the concert hall in Moscow, the capital of Russia, in which at least 140 people were killed, four suspects, citizens of Tajikistan, were brought to court.

Research has revealed that in recent years, most of the Tajik citizens who joined Daesh were migrant workers working in Russia. It was learned that the organization reached out to these workers through social media or messaging applications like Telegram.

Some individuals who confessed to joining Daesh claimed that they were approached through social media with promises of money.

The Tajik government argues that during 2014 to 2016 when the organization was strongest, most of the 2,000 citizens who joined Daesh did so in Russia.
