Türkiye condemns Israeli FM’s remarks on President Erdogan
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday described Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz’s post about President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a “futile attempt to change the agenda.”
“The disrespectful tone and baseless accusations of Israeli Foreign Minister Katz towards our President are a futile attempt to change the agenda regarding Israel’s crimes in Palestine,” the ministry said.
The statement highlighted that since October 2023, Israel has killed nearly 40,000 Palestinians. “The Netanyahu government barbarically killed dozens of innocent Palestinians in an attack on a tent camp last night. Everyone involved in these crimes will be tried in international courts,” it added.
The statement also emphasized that Türkiye would continue to advocate for justice and the rights of Palestinians.
Katz had made an offensive post about President Erdogan on his social media account, claiming that Erdogan is a “dictator.”
