Turkish forces arrest 23 in nationwide ops against Daesh

Istanbul Minister Ali Yerlikaya commends security forces’ successful nationwide crackdown on Daesh, with 23 suspects detained in Bozdogan-29 operations across seven provinces

Turkish forces apprehended 23 suspects in Bozdogan-29 operations targeting the Daesh terrorist group in seven provinces, the Interior Ministry announced.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on his social media account that between June 1, 2023, and April 22, 2024, 1,422 operations were carried out against Daesh, resulting in the arrest of 2,991 suspects. Seventy-eight were arrested, and 566 were placed under judicial supervision.

Yerlikaya reported that operations against Daesh were conducted in Canakkale, Hatay, Konya, Sakarya, Tekirdag, Yalova, and Yozgat provinces, coordinated by the Intelligence Directorate and Counterterrorism Department of the General Directorate of Security.

Providing details on the recent Bozdogan-29 operations, Yerlikaya mentioned that 23 suspects were arrested, with 10 in Hatay, five in Yalova, one in Konya, three in Yozgat, one in Canakkale, two in Sakarya, and one in Tekirdag.

“We will continue our fight with determination until the last terrorist is neutralized for the peace, unity, and solidarity of our nation, thanks to the superior efforts of our security forces,” Yerlikaya said.
