‘Suspicious elections’ in N. Syria set for June 11, spark regional concerns
An election set to take place in northern Syria on June 11 is the final move of PKK terrorist organization’s migration into Syria as it arms its forces and starts transporting them, stated retired Brigadier General Fahri Erenel.
The death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the announcement of a “suspicious election” in the north of Syria on June 11, perceived as a move toward attaining statehood for the PKK, have once again altered the regional landscape.
There is a prevailing perception that the incidents occurring in Gaza are not independent of Türkiye’s determination to clear Iraq of terrorism and change the status quo in Syria, its military and political steps, the emerging energy transmission lines and the redrawing of global trade routes.
According to Erenel, the “suspicious election” planned for June 11 was the final move of the forces arming and transporting the PKK to Syria.
Erenel noted that global actors are using the PKK as a pawn, employing a strategy known as “strategic confusion.”
Laying foundations of new states
“Western imperial powers see the chaos emerging in the region as an opportunity to establish satellite states,” Erenel stated.
“Raisi’s messages in Hudaferin and Türkiye’s recent stance on terror operations and energy-trade expansions affecting Iran were significant. The Development Road Project, the growing ‘terrorist’ threat in Syria, the Zangezur Corridor, the formation of the Organization of Turkic States, the Central Corridor and developments in the Mediterranean basin are historical events,” he added.
Erenel further maintained that the situation in Syria and Iraq is fragmented. It is known that Iran and Türkiye will follow. The project to redesign the region, centered on Israel, is positioning Iraq, Iran and Syria for significant developments in the near future.
“Undoubtedly, we are laying the foundations for new states. Under the guise of an election, the PKK-occupied zone is finalizing the design on a scale comparable to Syria,” he added.
Red lines eroded
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the looming threat, stating: “If Israel is not stopped, it will set its sights on Anatolia,” describing Gaza as a “forward line.”
Pointing to Israel’s covert ambitions in the region, Erenel stated: “There are no clear boundaries left. Daesh was used and discarded. Now, they are using the PKK to bring Israel to our borders. Israel’s occupation regime aims to move right next to us and become our neighbor.”
“Despite some changes, the June 11 election is not independent of the Greater Middle East Project. Considering the recent praise for the initiatives of Raisi and the Foreign Minister who died in the crash, I see a high likelihood that they were killed.”
Erenel further opined that the ulterior forces will not abandon the goal of a divided Iran, as decided in the West.
