President Erdogan pledges to double Türkiye’s economic growth

Erdogan highlights commitment to achieving Türkiye’s economic stability and the prosperity of citizens during an address in Ankara

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Monday shared his commitment to double Türkiye’s economic growth in the future, emphasizing that overcoming these challenges requires diligent effort and increasing the state’s resources, rather than relying on unrealistic promises.

“We never forget the promises we make to our people, and we will diligently follow through. Just as we have more than tripled the size of our country in the past 21 years, we aim to double it in the upcoming period,” the president vowed during his address at the inauguration ceremony of the Ataturk Republic Tower in Ankara.

“It is our duty to ensure that every citizen achieves the level of secure and peaceful life they deserve,” President Erdogan said, acknowledging the economic challenges faced by small business owners.

“Rest assured, we are dedicating extensive effort towards the success of our economic program. From national income to employment, from exports to public financial balance, all indicators thankfully show that we are on the right path,” the president said.

Highlighting the pressing issue of inflation, Erdogan expressed optimism about a rapid decline in the second half of the year. He also criticized those who cast doubts on the government’s economic program, accusing them of aiming for short-term gains through fear-mongering.

“As we move forward, starting from next year, we will be in a much better position to both address the shortcomings of the past and meet the needs of the future,” Erdogan affirmed.
