The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) confirmed that following a recent terrorist attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), Türkiye and the U.S. are maintaining close communication and coordination regarding Türkiye’s operations against terrorist targets in Syria.

During a press briefing, Pentagon Spokesperson Brigadier General Patrick Ryder addressed Türkiye’s recent security actions.

Pentagon reaffirms support for Türkiye’s security concerns

Discussing the Turkish Air Force operations targeting PKK/YPG positions in northern Syria, Ryder stated that the U.S. acknowledges “Türkiye’s legitimate security concerns in light of the recent terrorist attack.” He emphasized that the U.S. recognizes the PKK as a terrorist organization and pointed out that “both countries are committed to keeping an open line of communication as valued NATO allies.”
