Pakistani Embassy in Türkiye marked the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan on Wednesday with a series of vibrant events celebrating unity, resilience and the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye.

The festivities began with the national anthems of both Türkiye and Pakistan, followed by a captivating performance by Pakistani singers singing in Urdu, adding a touch of cultural authenticity to the celebration.

Ambassador Numan Aslan delivered a poignant address, reflecting on the significance of Pakistan’s independence in 1947. He highlighted the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the numerous challenges the fledgling nation overcame.

Aslan praised the progress Pakistan has made in diverse fields such as science, technology, art and culture. He described the resilience of the Pakistani people, noting their ability to persevere through natural disasters, economic hardships and social issues as a testament to the nation’s indomitable spirit.

The ambassador also extended heartfelt appreciation for Türkiye’s steadfast support, emphasizing the exceptional and historic relationship between the two countries.

British Consul General in Türkiye, Kenan Poleo, also shared his remarks, emphasizing the strong bonds between the Pakistani community in the U.K. and Pakistan.

His presence underscored the international dimension of the celebration and the global reach of the friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye.

Ali Erdogan, Deputy Mayor of Bagcilar Municipality, lauded the deep-rooted solidarity between Pakistan and Türkiye.

He underscored that despite not sharing a border, the two nations have forged a strong historical and cultural connection, reinforced through mutual support during pivotal moments such as the Canakkale War and the Turkish War of Independence.

Erdogan highlighted the symbolic gestures of this brotherhood, citing the Kemal Atatürk Avenue in Islamabad and Muhammad Ali Jinnah Avenue in Ankara as enduring symbols of the close ties between the two nations.

The event concluded on a high note, celebrating the strong and enduring bond between Pakistan and Türkiye and reaffirming their commitment to a future shaped by mutual respect and unity.
