Mother delivers son to police in Türkiye drug bust

In a coordinated drug operation centered in Kirklareli, alongside Edirne and Tekirdag, law enforcement officials apprehended 11 suspects linked to drug trafficking.

The operation, conducted under the direction of the Kirklareli Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, targeted 10 locations and two vehicles, resulting in significant findings.

Shocking turn of events

In a dramatic twist during the raid, a mother unexpectedly called her own son to the scene, turning him in to the authorities.

The incident highlights the growing concern over drug use among the youth in the region and the drastic measures some families are taking to combat this issue.

Seizures and arrests

Authorities seized 2.4 kilograms of narcotics, three precision scales, two unlicensed handguns, 18 rounds of ammunition, and ₺11,120 ($324) during the searches.

Following the arrests, the suspects were brought to the courthouse, where five of them were remanded in custody, while six others were released under judicial control.
