A landslide occurred on a slope in Türkiye’s Rize on Friday, an area previously used as a quarry and currently home to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD)
and the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or fatalities.

The landslide happened at noon when several citizens captured the event on their mobile phones. The recordings show large chunks of stone and soil broke off the slope and tumbled downward.

Due to previous landslides, the area had already been abandoned and cordoned off with safety barriers, contributing to the lack of casualties.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety of nearby facilities and residents.
