Kilicdaroglu’s ‘I’m not retired’ message sparks feud with Bolu Mayor Ozcan
Former Chairman of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Kemal Kilicdaroglu, sent a message to the party stating, “I have not retired from politics.” This statement came amid claims that Kilicdaroglu has 50 loyal deputies, leading to a heated argument between Bolu Mayor Tanju Ozcan and Kilicdaroglu.
Responding to Ozcan’s question, “Are you god?” Kilicdaroglu posted, “You are like a loose cannon. You’ve lost your balance. If death befalls me, I don’t want you at my funeral … It’s a shame, the effort I put into you.”
Ozcan fired back, “I’ve never met anyone who lies as much as you, and party members know this. I wouldn’t attend that funeral because I couldn’t say ‘I forgive’ when the imam asks.”
Following this, CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yucel commented on the matter. Yucel stated, “We regretfully witnessed our Bolu Mayor Tanju Ozcan’s use of harsh and offensive language towards our former Chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu on social media, exceeding the limits of criticism.”
Yucel continued, “Any opinion can be freely expressed as long as it remains within the bounds of respect. However, we do not condone anyone, regardless of their position, using language that exceeds the limits of criticism towards our former Chairman.”
Yucel emphasized that the party will assess the dispute within its committees. After Yucel’s statements, Ozcan announced that he would remain silent to avoid further harming the party.
