Karaelmas Express concludes promo tour from Ankara
Passengers were mesmerized by the rich natural, historical and cultural heritage of the Western Black Sea during their train journey
Türkiye’s new tourist train, Karaelmas Express, completed its promotional tour from Ankara on March 8, before the train embarks on the journey to the Western Black Sea Touristic Train Tour on April 12.
Within the scope of the Karaelmas Express Western Black Sea Touristic Train Tour, the rich natural, historical, and cultural heritage of the Western Black Sea mesmerized passengers during the promotional tour starting from Ankara and covering places like Cankiri, Karabuk and Zonguldak.
The first stops visited along the route were Kalecik, where passengers had the opportunity to visit beautiful vineyards and historical castles, Cankiri and its salt cave and museums along with Cerkes with its historical mansions.
Passengers walked on the cobblestone streets of the UNESCO Cultural Heritage City of Safranbolu, one of the most beautiful examples of classical Ottoman urban architecture.
The tour also brought attention to the mining history in Türkiye’s first and only Mining Museum as the tourists were amazed to learn about the rich mining history of the country.
Passengers observed the working conditions of miners, the operation of the mine, and the mining process at the Turkish Hard Coal Corporation (TTK) Training Center in Zonguldak.
Tourist train passengers, who also visited Gokgol Cave in Zonguldak, which stands out with its millions of years old coral fossils, watched with interest the galleries, stalactites, stalagmites, columns and travertines in the cave.
Passengers had the opportunity to travel by train, passing through river banks, tunnels and bridges in the forests of Yenicel and see the ruins of historical buildings unearthed in the Ancient City of Hadrianapolis in Eskipazar.
Karaelmas Express made it to the final stop in Ankara at night, thus completing its two-day promotional voyage.
