Daesh terrorist planning Istanbul attack arrested by police
Istanbul police have arrested Ahmet Fatrawi, a member of Daesh, who was planning an attack in the city on orders from the terrorist group.
Fatrawi, who had previously received training within Daesh, was apprehended during a police operation and has been remanded in custody by a court.
Daesh terrorist received training and orders
Fatrawi underwent training within the terrorist group for a period before moving to western Syria, specifically the Palmyra and Homs regions. After Daesh lost control over these areas, Fatrawi was forced to leave.
He then illegally crossed into Türkiye while maintaining contact with Daesh’s so-called leadership, continuing to receive instructions from the organization. His ultimate objective was to carry out an attack in Istanbul.
Police operation leads to arrest
Istanbul police successfully located Fatrawi and initiated an operation to apprehend him. Following the operation, Fatrawi was taken into custody and later brought before a court. The court ruled that he be remanded in prison.
Fatrawi imprisoned pending further investigation
The operation prevented what could have been a major attack in Istanbul, Türkiye. Fatrawi remains in custody, and further investigations into his activities and connections with Daesh are ongoing.
