Istanbul police have arrested Ahmet Fatrawi, a member of Daesh, who was planning an attack in the city on orders from the terrorist group.

Fatrawi, who had previously received training within Daesh, was apprehended during a police operation and has been remanded in custody by a court.

Daesh terrorist received training and orders

Fatrawi underwent training within the terrorist group for a period before moving to western Syria, specifically the Palmyra and Homs regions. After Daesh lost control over these areas, Fatrawi was forced to leave.

He then illegally crossed into Türkiye while maintaining contact with Daesh’s so-called leadership, continuing to receive instructions from the organization. His ultimate objective was to carry out an attack in Istanbul.
