Social media personality and restaurant owner Burak Ozdemir has purchased a luxurious duplex apartment in Istanbul's Nisantasi Tesvikiye neighborhood for $3.5 million, according to Turkish daily Hurriyet.
The property, previously owned by plastic surgeon Professor Reha Yavuzer and his "influencer" wife, Nur Bilen Yavuzer, occupies the top floor of a prestigious building. It boasts stunning views and meticulously designed interiors.
After the purchase, CZN Burak's past statements on his financial situation resurfaced once again. During a legal case in the past against his own father, he claimed his monthly income was ₺30,000 (roughly $850), a figure many found inconsistent with his opulent lifestyle.
The celebrity chef once revealed that he was defrauded by his father and had to sell luxury cars from his collection to rebuild his capital.
However, his financial struggles appeared "short-lived" as he soon added a Ferrari to his garage.
With the purchase of his $3.5 million apartment, questions about the disparity between his declared income and his lavish purchases are likely to resurface.
