BAE Systems and Repkon USA, a subsidiary of a Türkiye-based defense company, Repkon, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development and production of advanced munitions.

The agreement is intended to improve supply chain resilience and address rising global demand for critical defense materials.

The companies will focus on enhancing the range, precision, and overall performance of various munitions. The partnership will also explore scaling the production of propellants and explosives using advanced manufacturing technologies.

Defense Industry Trends Drive Increased Production

BAE Systems is a key supplier of ammunition to the UK Ministry of Defence and produces a wide range of munitions, including small arms and artillery shells, at several facilities across the United Kingdom. Since 2023, the company has been expanding its production of 155mm artillery shells in response to increased demand.

Repkon U.S. specializes in advanced metal-forming processes and has been expanding its footprint in the U.S. defense sector.

The collaboration is expected to support efforts to build sustainable munitions stockpiles and ensure long-term production capacity for military needs.
