4 including young athletes, coaches injured in blast at ski center in Türkiye’s Sivas
A gas-related explosion at a hotel in the Yildiz Mountain Ski Center in Sivas has left four people injured, according to a statement from the Sivas Governor’s Office.
The explosion occurred around 9:20 a.m. in the rest area for female ski athletes located on the lower floor of the Yildizhan Hotel.
While the exact cause of the blast remains unclear, officials described it as a minor explosion.
“Two ski athletes and one coach sustained minor injuries, while another coach suffered second-degree burns to his hands and face,” the governor’s office said in a statement.
Emergency responders quickly transported the injured individuals to hospitals in the city center, utilizing ambulances and an air ambulance.
Authorities confirmed that none of the injured were in life-threatening condition.
