11 suspects detained in Ankara, 16 in Izmir over links with Daesh terrorist group
Turkish authorities detained 11 suspects in an operation targeting the terrorist group Daesh’s network in Ankara, with one more suspect still being sought by law enforcement.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office issued detention warrants for 12 individuals as part of an investigation conducted by the Counterterrorism Department.
The suspects are accused of participating in organizational activities within Daesh’s Ankara structure.
Counterterrorism units from the Ankara Police Department carried out coordinated raids, resulting in the detention of 11 individuals. Authorities confirmed that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspect.

In a separate operation in Izmir, authorities detained 16 individuals suspected of having ties to Daesh.
The operation targeted suspects believed to have been active in conflict zones on behalf of the group and others accused of spreading terrorist propaganda online.
The Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office issued detention warrants for 17 individuals, including 15 Syrian nationals who participated in armed activities in conflict regions and two suspects accused of online propaganda.
Counterterrorism police units conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations, resulting in the detention of 16 suspects.
Efforts to locate the remaining suspect are ongoing. Authorities reported that evidence, including digital materials, was seized during the operations.
