From Antalya in February to Istanbul in September, Türkiye's newly announced 2027 road cycling calendar will bring together 20 events across the country, giving international riders a seven-month racing program that stretches through Mersin, Konya, Gaziantep, Erzurum and the Black Sea before reaching its finale on the Bosphorus.
The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the international governing body for cycling, has released its 2027 road racing calendar, placing Türkiye on the schedule with events spread across several cities and regions.
The season will get underway on Feb. 13 with the Grand Prix Antalya before working its way through a packed early-year program in Antalya and Alanya. The calendar will eventually wrap up nearly seven months later with the Tour of Istanbul from Sept. 2-5.
For riders looking to race in Türkiye in 2027, the calendar offers far more than a single major tour, with one-day Grand Prix events and multi-day races following one another from winter through the end of summer.
Antalya will become the first center of the 2027 season, starting with the Grand Prix Antalya on Feb. 13. Grand Prix Alaiye follows in Alanya on Feb. 20, with Grand Prix Alanya taking place one day later.
The program then returns to Antalya for Grand Prix Pedalia on Feb. 27 and the Tour of Antalya from March 4-7, followed by another Grand Prix Antalya on March 27 and Grand Prix Apollon Temple on April 3.
The racing calendar will then move on to Mersin, where the Tour of Mersin is scheduled for April 8-11.
The Presidential Cycling Tour of Türkiye, one of the country's key international cycling events, will run from April 25 to May 2.
Listed in the UCI 2.Pro category, the race is expected to bring professional cyclists from different countries together in Türkiye.
Once the tour finishes, the season will carry on with Grand Prix Kirikkale on May 29, Grand Prix Anadolu in Konya on May 30 and the Tour of Anatolia from June 3-6.
Gaziantep will then host the Türkiye Road Championships from June 24-27.
July will shift the calendar to Erzurum, beginning with Grand Prix Palandoken on July 3 and Grand Prix Ejder 3200 on July 4, before the Tour of Erzurum takes place from July 8-11.
August will bring three consecutive stage races in different parts of Türkiye: the Tour of Kahramanmaras from Aug. 12-15, the Tour of Ordu from Aug. 19-22 and the Tour of Samsun from Aug. 26-29.
The final international event of Türkiye's 2027 season will be the Tour of Istanbul, a UCI 2.1 race scheduled for Sept. 2-5.
Its finish will close out a calendar that began in Antalya in February and continued for roughly seven months across Türkiye.
Turkish Cycling Federation President Emin Muftuoglu said having 20 events on the 2027 UCI road calendar would help broaden cycling's reach across the country while bringing athletes from different nations to Türkiye.
"In 2027, we aim to bring cycling to wider audiences across Türkiye through international races to be held in different regions of our country."
Muftuoglu added that the calendar would also give Turkish riders international experience while helping cycling culture grow in different cities.
