Turkish wrestler Buse Tosun Cavusoglu secured a bronze medal on Tuesday in the women’s 68-kilogram category at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Competing at the Champ de Mars Arena, Cavusoglu initially lost in the first round to Amit Elor of the United States. However, Elor’s advancement to the finals allowed Cavusoglu another opportunity through the repechage rounds.

In the repechage, Cavusoglu defeated Poland’s Viktorya Choluj. She then faced North Korea’s Sol Gum Pak for the bronze medal match, emerging victorious with a score of 4-2.

This bronze medal brings Türkiye’s total medal count at the Paris 2024 Olympics to three. Earlier, Türkiye had secured a silver medal in mixed 10-meter air pistol shooting with Yusuf Dikec and Sevval Ilayda Tarhan, and a bronze in men’s archery team with Mete Gazoz, Muhammed Abdullah Yildirim, and Ulash Berkim Tumer.
