Ultramarathon swimmer Bengisu Avci set a new world record in the 200-meter medley at the IISA 6th Ice Swimming World Championship in Molveno, Italy.

According to a written statement from her communication office, Turkish swimmer Avci achieved first place with a time of 2:52.77, breaking the world record for the 25-29 age group in the 200-meter medley event.

The Ice Swimming World Championship, which featured 754 athletes from 48 countries, also saw Turkish swimmers Irem Damar and Deniz Kayadelen compete.

Kayadelen finished in first place in the 35-39 age group for the 500 meters and secured third place in the 100-meter freestyle event.
