Benfica continued their successful Champions League run with a 4-0 victory over Atletico Madrid, fueled by the exceptional performances of Turkish football players: Kerem Akturkoglu and Orkun Kokcu.

The Portuguese side showed their strength early in the competition, securing their second win and topping their group.

Kerem Akturkoglu opens scoring and maintains momentum

Akturkoglu found the back of the net in the 13th minute, giving Benfica a crucial lead. His quick start and ability to finish clinically have made him a key player for the team since his arrival in the summer.

The 25-year-old winger has now scored four goals in five matches with Benfica, including his strikes in the Champions League and domestic league. Akturkoglu’s continued contributions on both ends of the pitch have boosted Benfica’s success, making him one of the most important players in their lineup.

Orkun Kokcu’s leadership, penalty secures Benfica’s victory

Kokcu’s role in Benfica’s 4-0 victory was equally vital. The 23-year-old midfielder controlled the pace of the game, contributing both offensively and defensively. His performance was capped off with a penalty goal in the 84th minute, solidifying Benfica’s lead.

The Turkish footballer’s contributions go far beyond scoring. Since joining Benfica at the beginning of the season, he has been involved in nine matches across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

Turkish football players contribute to Benfica’s strong start in Champions League

With this 4-0 victory, Benfica extended their unbeaten start to the Champions League, moving to six points from two matches. In addition to goals from Kerem Akturkoglu and Orkun Kokcu, veteran player Angel Di Maria converted a penalty in the 52nd minute, and Alexander Bah scored in the 75th minute to round off the team’s dominant performance.

Akturkoglu and Kokcu have quickly become central figures in Benfica’s lineup. Their contributions in both domestic and European competitions have solidified Benfica’s position as a top contender this season.
