Galatasaray’s swinger Tete transfers to Panathinaikos in $7.6M deal
Galatasaray’s Brazilian winger Tete has officially transferred to Panathinaikos.
The Greek club added Tete to their UEFA Europa League squad ahead of their second qualifying match against Bulgaria’s Botev Plovdiv.
Tete, who joined Galatasaray last season but did not meet expectations, has now agreed to a four-year contract with Panathinaikos. The transfer deal includes a $7.6 million fee, and Tete will earn an annual salary of $2.9 million.
The 24-year-old winger traveled to Greece on Wednesday for final discussions and now appears on Panathinaikos’ official UEFA roster. Despite Tete’s departure, Galatasaray has not yet released an official statement about the transfer.
Last season, Tete made 45 appearances for Galatasaray, scoring three goals. His move to Panathinaikos marks a significant change as both clubs prepare for the upcoming season.
