Fenerbahce reduced the deficit in first-half stoppage time when Sebastian Szymanski capitalized on a loose ball in the box after Anderson Talisca’s effort was parried.

Despite pushing for an equalizer during extended injury time, Fenerbahce’s attempts were thwarted by Galatasaray’s resolute defense.

Mourinho attacks Galatasaray’s headcoach

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce’s Jose Mourinho attacked Galatasaray’s head coach Okan Buruk at the end of the match.

Following the final whistle, tempers flared between the coaching staffs. Mourinho approached Buruk on the field and grabbed his nose, causing the Galatasaray coach to lose balance and fall.

The incident further escalated tensions in the already volatile derby. Mourinho was shown a red card for his physical tackle on Buruk.
