Buse Naz Cakiroglu, the first female boxer from Türkiye to secure an Olympic quota, claimed a silver medal in the women’s 50 kg boxing final at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

In her Olympic debut, Cakiroglu faced off against China’s Yu Wu at the Philippe-Chatrier Court. Despite a strong performance, Cakiroglu was defeated 4-1, earning her second consecutive Olympic silver medal.

Cakiroglu, a dominant figure in European boxing, recently captured her third European championship title at the 2024 European Senior Boxing Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. Her journey to the final included victories over Spanish rival Marta Lopez Del Abbol and Bulgarian athlete Venelina Poptoleva, before she secured the gold medal with a decisive 5-0 win against Anastasiia Kool.
