Ferdi Kadioglu, who joined Brighton from Fenerbahce, scored first goal for his new team against Wolverhampton.

In the third round of the English League Cup, Brighton faced Wolverhampton at home. Kadioglu, who joined Brighton from Fenerbahce for a transfer fee of €30 million on the final day of the summer transfer window, started the match on the bench.

Brighton took a 2-0 lead with goals from Carlos Baleba in the 14th minute and Simon Adingra in the 31st minute. Wolverhampton narrowed the gap to 2-1 in the 44th minute with a goal from Gonçalo Guedes. The first half ended with this score.

In the 82nd minute, Kadioglu came on as a substitute for Yankuba Minteh. Just three minutes later, in the 85th minute, the Turkish international scored to give Brighton a 3-1 lead. This was Kadioglu’s first goal for Brighton.

Wolverhampton’s Thomas Doyle scored in stoppage time (90+1), reducing the deficit to 3-2, but the match ended with a 3-2 victory for Brighton.
